Size/Position Tab View

[Dialog Box View]

Last update: April 2017

The Size/Position tab in RC-WinTrans' Dialog Box view displays information about layout changes that have been made to a source or target dialog box or dialog box item and provides options for working with these.  The view is used for the following tasks:

1.

If layout changes have been made in the source file it becomes necessary to check the size and position of the target dialog box control to see if it is still valid or if it needs to be updated.

2.

Update the control by:

a.

adjusting the size/position of the control with the layout editor.

b.

confirming the current size and position using the Confirm size and position button, or

c.

resetting the layout data to the size and position of the source element using the Set Original Size and Position toolbar button (shown here, right).

If the layout data of the source dialog box or dialog box control has been changed, the selected dialog box/control is shown with a red focus frame around it.  This is also indicated with a warning symbol on the tab (see Figure 2).

Figure 1:  The Dialog Box view.  The "Cancel" button is selected in the view of the source dialog (right side) and has the original size and position of the item.  The view of the target dialog (left side) shows the button with its French translation text ("Annuler") and with new dimensions to accommodate the longer text.

Figure 2:  The Dialog Box view showing the same dialog box from Figure 1.  Here the view shows that the size of the "Cancel" button has changed in the source file.  The French target element ("Annuler") still has the same layout as before the source data changed and must now be checked as described above (1.).
