Hotkeys – Suggestions and Conflict Resolution

RC-WinTrans features automatic hotkey suggestion and conflict detection for hotkey assignments that are not unique.  Hotkey errors (missing/doubled hotkeys) are automatically indicated to the user in the Dialog Box and Menu views (main view and Hotkey Check tab in secondary view), and in the Check Results view after running a hotkey check manually (see Figure 1 below).

Detected hotkey errors may either be resolved manually or with the assistance of RC-WinTrans' hotkey suggestion and conflict resolution feature.  This feature is accessed in one of three ways:

1.

(with the Dialog Box view/Menu view active and the problematic item selected) right mouse-click to call up the local menu, then select the Hotkey Suggestion command (Figure 2).  The Hotkey Suggestion dialog box is opened (Figure 1).

2.

(with the Dialog Box view/Menu view active and the problematic item selected) select the Hotkey Suggestion command from the Edit menu.  The Hotkey Suggestion dialog box is opened (Figure 2).

3.

(with the problematic item selected in the Dialog Box, Menu, or Text Table view) select the Hotkey Suggestion command from the Checks menu.  The hotkey suggestion page  (Extended View bar) is opened (Figure 3).
