Resource Script (RC) File

Resource files (typically files with the extension ".rc") are source files that define resources such as menus and dialog box controls and that are compiled by the resource compiler as part of building an application for Windows.  These are ASCII-based source files (text files) containing descriptions of an application's resources.

Resource (RES) File

A binary file created by the resource compiler that contains an application's resource data.  Resource files typically have the file extension ".res".

NOTE: RES files cannot be translated with RC-WinTrans.
